ScanCeram.dk
is our site for the annual Scandinavian Ceramics Conference in
Hjørring Kommune, Denmark.
Join us September 19th-22rd, 2013 for panels, lectures, exhibitions,
demonstrations by outstanding ceramic involved artists and professionals
from Scandinavia and around the world.
This year we've got a lot of new topics to focus on. American decorative ceramics, Ceramic Exchange Programs, Ceramic Sustainability, and teaching with projects are some, along with international modes of ceramic education, Internet/online marketing, and building ceramic workshops. We'll have demonstrations by outstanding ceramic artists like Linda Christensen (USA), as well as a continued focus on all sorts of activities that we engage in as ceramic artists, and how we thrive in our profession.
There will be exhibitions of local ceramic artists, conference
presenters, and an exhibition of Functional ceramics at
the Vendsyssel Art Museum, with some really fantastic works.
We've also set a focus on young ceramic artists and students. If you're a student, and you'd like to join us, we've made a special rate for you to attend the conference, in exchange for you giving a brief presentation about your work, study, or institution. You can do this as a group or individual. And we've got a fun workshop for making and firing the weekend prior to the conference as well, with participants from Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the UK. If your a student or young professional, and you need help with funding your travel to the conference, you can contact us and submit an application for support!
This year, the program includes artists from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, South Africa, the United States, Egypt, and Turkey. We hope that you'll come and join us too!
